The length of each module is either 13 sessions lasting 1 hour 30 minutes or 10 weeks and each lesson lasting 2 hours. Short Intensive or Extension courses can only be taken by students who need to retake a module or those who already have some previous knowledge of the subject.

Private lessons can be organised and are booked in 5 slots at a time. The private fee is £85.00 for 5 slots, each slot is one hour.

The cheque made payable to ‘Habiba Institute.’ Upon receipt of your application Habiba Institue will arrange a tutor to contact you and send you a course package.

Detailed Course Outline:

 

Foundation Reading Writing module will cover:

  1. Arabic Alphabets
  2. Sounds and points of articulations
  3. Practice sounds with vowels
  4. Arabic short vowels and long vowels
  5. Letter formation
  6. Joining letters
  7. Reading and Joining letters with intensive drills
  8. Reading and Joining words with intensive drills
  9. Intro to Arabic Calligraphy
  10. Fluency tests
  11. Timed speed reading
  12. Some Supplications from prayer
  13. Shahada
  14. Memorising at least four Surahs

 

Arabic Calligraphy Module 1

  1. Historical development of Arabic Calligraphy
  2. Arabic Alphabets both joined and independent using a Reed Pen
  3. The science of perfect proportion by the measurement of Rombhoids
  4. Writing your initials correctly with proportion of the script
  5. Similarities and diffrences in the scripts
  6. Study a few calligraphy works
  7. Final draft on canvass

 

Fiqh of Ibadah Module 1

 

This course will cover the basic essentials that Muslim women need to know. We will be covering a basic overview of Islamic Jurisprudence with a particular emphasis on its application for women:

  1. Purity Taharah – Water, Istinja, Wudhu, Tayyamum, Menstruation and Ghusl.
  2. Basic knowledge, performance and common mistakes of the prayer [Pre-requisites, units, actions of the prayer, what validates and invalidates, Adhan and Duas]
  3. Women and Fasting [including Ramadan and issues related]
  4. Women and payment of the Zakah
  5. Women and the Hajj and Umrah [including Ihram for women]
  6. Mannerism of the Muslim Women [inc behaviour and dress code]
  7. Spirituality and Muslim Women [inc Quran and recommended Duas]

 

Al-Jazariyyah Module 1

The first half of Al Muqaddimah Al-Jazariyyah. Students will be taught the poem/text in Arabic and be given an explanation of the verses in English with examples. It will be optional to memorise the poem. Part 2 of this module will commence once part 1 has been completed successfully.

  3. Bab ut-Tajwid – Chapter on Tajwid
  4. Makhariji al-Huroofi – Articulation points of the letters
  5. Sifaath al-Huroofi – Characteristics of the letters
  6. Fi Dhikri Ba’di Tanbihaat – Reminders of points to be cautious
  7. Ar-Ra’ath
  8. Al-laamaat wa Ahkaamin Mutafarriqatin
  9. Al-dhadhi’ wa ‘a-Zai’
  10. Al-Nooni wal Meemi al Mushaddadatain wal Meem al-Sakinah
  11. Ahkaami noon al sakinah wa al tanween
